Hi Coach R,

You had originally setup a season roadmap based on IM703MT (6/22), and then dropping into the SC training plan for AGNats on 8/8. In my infinite wisdom, I also signed up for Timberman 70.3 the following weekend on 8/16. What would you recommend as far as season planning? Still do the SC training plan and supplement w/longer ride+runs. Or drop back into a HIM plan?

Thanks,

Justine

Sorry I missed this. Is AG Nats still your priority? I think you should:

    • Reload the HIM plan, setting it to end on Timberman. My think is that regardless of when you're racing Nats, we need to get you ready for an HIM and the HIM plan will be a good tool to you use for the Oly.
    • In wk 18 of the plan, hit up Patrick in the Micro Forum for guidance on how to modify your plan. If my math is correct, you'll be doing:
      • Final HIM RR in wk18
      • Racing Nats in wk19
      • Then racing Timberman in wk20
    • So there will be a bit of a need to deconflict all of ^this^ in that ~3wk block. But up until then, the HIM is a good training plan solution for you.

That said, if it were me and Nats had the higher priority, I would cap the long runs in the HIM plan at ~1:20-30 and make sure I get in the harder running scheduled in those runs. I'd also cap the long bike at ~2.5-3hrs and focus on the intensity within those rides.

    Good luck!

  • No worries. Thanks Coach!
