Calorie Calculations Strava vs Garmin
Wondering if anyone has insight as to how the two calculate calories, and why the big difference?
on the bike, I understand that one Kj is effectively a calorie. So it goes to stand that Kj roughly = calories. Garmin is spot on with this. yet on Strava I notice a 10-15% higher number for all rides... Any thoughts?
on the run? How does Garmin calculate calories? weight? hills? speed? HR? (how does it do it differently if HR sensor is not present?)
Just one of those anomalies that has me wondering.

Personally I don't pay any attention to the calorie counts in strava or garmin, I guess I just don't trust them. I'm using the loseit app to try and lose some of the flab and mainly pay attention to the intake side of the house and figure the calories burned from working out are a bonus.
