Bike computer
My Garmin had problems and had to go back to them for repair/replacement.
I am doing the bike leg at Challenge AC this weekend.
Should I get a wireless computer to track cadence and pace or go for a Garmin 510 or 810 for the bike to capture the power data?

Are you looking for something to use for pacing for Running until you get your replacement Garmin? I have a few years old Timex Run Trainer watch I could charge up that you could borrow if needed.
Or if you are looking for something for your bike? I have a spare Joule 2.0 that we could pare with your powertap or powermeter that you can use until you get your garmin back. Do you have a power meter, what kind? I am pretty sure the Joule 2.0 that I have can be paired with any ANT+ stuff. The one fall back to the Joule 2.0 is that you will not have the gps data afterwards cause it does not do GPS.
Let me know, and if I can help I may have a couple things you can use.
I have a Tages Power meter. I am doing the relay so only need something for the bike.
I don't really care about the GPS since we have the route map.
Now, I have to come clean.
I do not know what a Jouke 2.0 is...I will go research it.
Not sure it would work with stages for that going to sleep issue. ??
I have a Garmin 910XT
The Stages is also a crank so it would probably go to sleep.
Thanks for the offer. It doesn't sound like it would work though
Thank you Rob,
I decided to bite the bullet and bought the 920XT. i will sell the 910XT when Garmin ships it back.
I sure hope this works better than the 910XT did. I bought it last May and have been very frustrated by it.
Good Luck with the new 920, they look really nice.
See you Sunday.
See you down there
I have a 920XT and love it however....I got a Stages right before Challenge Quassy. I found that it did not pair well with the 920, it would pair but then drop out very consistently. On/off/on/off, etc. My friend the Internet alerted me that I was not the only one with this issue.
I moved up my planed purchase of a bike computer, got an Edge 810. Amazon next day to my hotel in CT. Arrived before noon. Mounted on bike, did position admin. Dropped bike off at Transition after team lunch. All just in time timing. It worked out and I managed to capture my HIM effort in a power file.
YMMV as you are smaller than my 6'2" 210 lbs, so signal dynamics will be different. Online suggestions were ridiculous in some cases "mount the watch by your water bottle so it is close to the crank".
