Spinner's Swim Q's

Has anyone ever had an issue with being very dizzy after the swim portion of a race or after their swim workouts?

I've really noticed it after my first sprint (almost fell over in T1). At that time it seemed like an isolated incident but, its happening more and more now.

During my workouts I'm hydrating with Nuun during my rests.

I just finished a workout today with new Rx Goggles... maybe that's adding to it or maybe i'm just that fatigued.

any thoughts?

  • For me longer swims sometimes make me a little dizzy, water logged feeling but these are just longer swims like above 3K. In longer swims I think being horizontal for a long period of time especially like an IM swim and then suddenly standing probably causes all the blood to rush back down and make you walk a little funny and dizzy, I also get this.

Are you dizzy on all swim practice distances or just the longer ones? Is your exertion really hard (jacked heart rate) when you get dizzy or do you get it even when going slow and steady? I guess depending on your answer it could be related to your Rx goggles or BP drop or something else. I tried the polarized goggles for example and they made me dizzy as hell in the water for some reason.
