Vacation/foot modifcations
RNP,
I am having what I believe is tendonitis in my big toe that does not seems to be improving. Additionally, I have a family vacation of 9 days in about a week. I am on week 19 of a Get Faster plan that switches to a short course plan at the beginning of the vacation. My idea was to drop the plan runs for bikes. The vacation week may provide some swim and run time. I am hoping this will be enough rest to start again when I return. My biggest concern is loosing the run fitness that I have work so hard at.
Thanks for the help.
Eric

For now, yes back off the running.
I'd drop the runs until you are on vacation, where you can start doing a few shorter runs on say every other day as you begin to rebuild.
Leave no stone unturned for changes...perhaps you need new shoes? A gait review?
I am not worried about losing a little fitness if it means you are getting healthy...there's a fine line between fit and healthy and fit and injured....the former is always preferred, especially as race day approaches!!!
