Infinit and hydration
I use Infinit to fuel my races and I require 250-300 calories per hour which comes out to basically 20-30oz of liquid. So my question is should I just drink plain water to increase my hydration per hour, or would it be better to dilute the Infinit within the amount of water that I need for the race. For example:
If I need 50 oz of hydration and 250 calories per hour - I could drink 20oz water with 2 scoops Infinit plus 30 oz plain water, or
I could drink 50 oz of water mixed with 2 scoops of Infinit (diluted).
Does it make any difference?

I concentrate my Infinit (825 Calories, 6 scoops) into a 24 oz bottle. I make it last 3 hours by taking very small sips every 15 minutes, and then drink 24-36 oz of water (depending on the temperature) every hour to get my hydration. This way I can carry 1 bottle of Infinit for a HIM, or for an IM start with one bottle of Infinit on the bike and pick up a 2nd bottle at bike special needs. Basically I use Infinit for fuel and water for hydration. For me it makes it easier to keep track of the water I take in, and don't really think of Infinit as hydration. If it really hot, I'll also take a S-cap after 4 hours and another after 5 hours.
The proof's in the pudding. I'll be trying Bruce's protocol. Thanks for the topic, David.
Great suggestion Bruce. That hadn't even occurred to me. I'm be trying that at my next race. Thanks!
