Kinetic Recon
It's been a while so I went down and rode a loop of the bike course and jumped in the lake. Here is some beta for those doing it this Saturday.
The bike is a continuous roll, with no flat to speak of. The entire ride is either slightly up or down. The main roads tend to be better pavement and the roll is more open and gradual. The "backside" is mostly smaller roads with sketchier pavement and short little rollers that when combined with some wind can suck the life out of you. Don't hesitate to go higher cadence and small chain ring in a couple of spots. There's not a real climb on this course but it is not an easy or particularly fast course. You have to stay on top of your gearing.
Run is rolling, all inside the park, 2 loops with a short stretch on a trail. It now goes down to the beach and back up so that's a nice little grade to run back up twice. Otherwise pretty straightforward.
Swim is flat. Two loops. Water is warm, but they're calling for thunderstorms and a front is coming in to take away this perfect weather we're having so my guess is windy and cooler.
I'll be there for a long training day, trying to stick to the program. Maybe see some Nation folk? Good luck!

Will be there for the sprint. I have done the HIM several times and its a good race but I did not want to do an early season HIM this year. I have been plagued with rain cold weather or unseasonably hot.....maybe we will be due for good race weather.
