6 Gaps Route - Tri or Road Bike?
I just realized that my son's lacrosse tournament is where the 6 Gaps Route in Vermont is and given that the first game isn't until 12:00 pm, that leaves lots of riding time. My question is whether to roadie it or tribike it. I've been on the tribike for several weeks leading up to IMMont Tremblant in about a month. The tribike has a true compact crank (50-34) on it, but will obviously not handle as well on the descents of these gaps. My road bike has a mid-compact (52-36), so not as many gears, but will handle better on the descents. I will probably select 4 gaps on Saturday and hopefully another 4 on Sunday. Since we arrive on Friday, I might be able to recon it in the car and maybe get in 2 gaps. Here is a link to the ride and elevation profile:

Thanks for the input.

Definitly tri bike (note that the American Zofingen always has this conversation) stay aware, btw, I think that one or two of these may have gravel/ dirt roads near the top, but you know that because you read this page.. would be good to see a report of this ride in the RR section after you tackle it!
