Ironman Canada Swim Map Detail
Greetings!
Attached (hopefully) are two images of the swim course with detail you may not find on the official IM website. Sorry I can't get the bigger one to orient correctly. This is an interesting swim (IMO) for a few of reasons:
- Deep water mass start - old skool!
- Two loops but no exit for the second loop.
- When making the turn from loop one to loop two at the starting red buoy (no label), the turn is less than 90 degrees. Many swimmers will veer too far right. Turn extra hard left!
- When finishing the second loop you head straght to shore from the red buoy (with the T3 label) at slightly greater than 90 degrees. Ignore the starting red buoy with no label. I'd be sure to sight carefully for the finishing chute shortly after you make that turn as many swimmers will be swimming too far left.
