Powertap G3 firmware?

My Powertap G3 which I bought last year had the battery warning coming up, so I replaced the battery and thought I'd check to see if there were any firmware updates.  I cannot get my computer to recognize that I've plugged in the hub.  I've tried 2 different cables, both of which fit the hub, but the Poweragent software keeps telling me it can't find any devices.  I know the hub is alive/awake because trainerroad and my garmin 920xt report power.  Thoughts?

    Same thing happened to me. I was very frustrated.  I called support and they got it going for me.  We men don't like to do that.  But that's my recommendation.

    So I called and rather than figure it out, the guy says, "Let me have your address and I'll just send you a new one with all the firmware updates." Ok, deal.

    Not all cables are equal. Once at work and wanting to download my data off my Joule, I had to try at least 4 cables before I got one to work. I think some are only good for power charging and others have extra wires/capabilities for communication.
