LB Macro Season Planning

Hey Coach-

HUGE THANK YOU for my awesome road map! I am really excited about it. I think its a great path to a hopefully strong IMLP 2016.

So I forgot to mention one thing- I am doing a sprint aquabike next Thursday (7/13) and Timberman aquabike (7/16).  My roadmap has me loading up bike focus this week....which I did....and tested last night for the first time with my PM. Felt like it was a pretty good test (considering it was my first outside test and with PM)....but my HR was high, is that normal? Power numbers look consistent for 20 minutes except for the 2 times I had to turn and once when a car pulled out. NP was 196W and avg was 193W....what accounts for the difference? Sorry for all the annoying questions- I am reading up on power and trying to learn as much as I can....but there is so much to learn!

My big question is- should I modify the next 2 weeks in anyway since I am doing those aquabike Timberman?

    Notes:

    • The long bike in the BF plan is only about 90', I think. Or it may be 2.5hrs, I forget. Anyway, recommend you do the schedule Main Set(s) in that Saturday ride but then add Z2-3 time, as you feel, to bump up the volume of the ride to about 3hrs, as preparation for the Timberman AqB. 
    • 196w Pnom and 193w Pavg is fine, not really much of a different and to be expected if you're doing this outside, have to turn around, etc. None issue, in other words. 
    • If you've been testing indoors vs outdoors, your power and HR are likely higher outdoors, for many reasons. Best to simply not compare indoors to outdoors and just roll with your outdoor numbers going forward.

    Thank you for my Season Roadmap! Couple of quick questions.

    1. Now that I am not doing swim camp- do you think I need to figure out a week to "deload" to reset the legs? I know the purpose of the swim camp is to boost swim and give legs a rest....do you think it will be an issue not having that?

    2. I am doing Quassy and IMLP camp back to back weekends- I really want to do the IMLP camp but technically on our training plan it calls for rehearsal weekend on 6/18-6/19....is it fine to move up a week so I can attend camp even tho so close to Quassy?

    3. The duathlon is on a day that is supposed to be a long ride- should I modify that week in some way to get the ride in? Or just forget the duathlon all together. It's a local du that I have never done- but have been riding the course weekly so now I know it very well - wanted to see what I could do- but it absolutely is not necessary if it will impact my A races in anyway.

    Sorry for all the clarifying questions- but I appreciate your time and patience!!!!

If you feel you need to do that, not a problem to take M-Wed or even Thursday completely off in that first week of the Get Faster plan

The camp will serve as your first RR and you can do normal training on the weekend of 6/18-19

It's a local du that I have never done- but have been riding the course weekly so now I know it very well - wanted to see what I could do- but it absolutely is not necessary if it will impact my A races in anyway. Do the race and just do your schedule long ride on the day that is NOT the race...if that makes sense. Bottomline is to do your best to get the long ride in, regardless of the day of the race.
