Hi Everyone,

Record attendees at Steelhead this year and the weather was very good, except for a little wind on the bike (which we all know how to deal with).

How was your race?

I personally had a good race and considering my training was week, I was quite happy with my results. My race execution was good and I stuck to my plan with very little deviation and adapted to the little setbacks along the way. All-in-all it was a good day for me!

Can you believe how smooth Lake Michigan was, nearly like swimming in a (very busy) pool and compared with the day before practice swim the Lake was great!

First wetsuit swim and big time swim issues. I just wanted to get done in less than an hour. I did. Bike was fun, I love to ride... kept it easy for the knee. Run was painful in a "don't go crazy" kind of way, not in a "you better stop stupid" kind of way. So I did a little run walk, mostly walk and finished!!

Lake Michigan was great!! I did fight the current a bit, but that's to be expected. And wow, I'd rather wear a wet suit all the time! Cloud cover the entire race was really nice and the volunteers were fantastic.
