Sheri's Macro for Coach Rich
Hi Coach Rich- I'm fairly new & loving EN! My year is fairly basic as I only have a couple races on the calendar for the next 6 mo. My next race is redman in 4 weeks (sept26). The group I ride with is doing Hotter than hell next sat- length choices are 60, 100m. They said if I decide to do it I could probably break off about mile 85, but there is no metal for that option . I don't feel like Im ready for a 100 and I don't think it would be a good idea to go for that. Just wondering if sticking a 60 or 85m ride in next sat is a good idea or should I just skip out of that one?
thanks so much

Hey Sheri,
Sorry I missed this. Go for the 100m option. Just pace, hydrate, and fuel yourself well and you'll be fine. However, one "danger" of organized century type rides like this grazing too much at the food stops. Really recommend you try to stick to a race-ish nutrition plan, keeping the stops very quick and efficient, and not going postal on the real food they'll have at the stops. IOW, thing "race day" more than "organized century / Hometown Buffet."
Good luck!
