New Bike new headaches, power meter comatibility and computer problem Polar V800, Stages PM, new Fel

So I picked up my new bike this weekend even though my health isn't such that I can really enjoy it yet.  I sold off my old Felt B16 and my beloved Felt F5 roady, and picked up a 2015 AR5.  I have a 3T zefiro aero bar on the way with the short PI wing extensions.  My wife also got me a new Giro air attack shield helmet.

So the 1st issue is that my Stages power meter (the actual sensor on the crank arm) interferes with the rear brake!  Ouch.....  So according to the interwebs the Tektro 750R rear brake will work in its place.  I have one on the way and will report back.

2nd issue.  I've been riding with the Stages PM using my Polar V800 watch.  The main issue is that Polar does not have any power smoothing function like the 3s smoothing that Garmin offers.  As a result power is just all over the place all the time which is irritating.  I'm considering buying a Garmin 500, 510 or 520 just for the bike for this reason.

Moral of the story is that all of your cool gear and gadgets aren't always compatible with your new bike and sometimes your cool gadgets don't really give you the most useful information.  And the worst part is that it only costs you more funds in the end to make it all work.

I thought about getting the Vector pedals to use, but the pods just seem to fragile.  Having L/R power would be nice, but if Stages is good enough to win the TdF it's probably sufficient for me too.
