Hi Coach Rich,

Thanks for preparing the road map. I just looked at it and have the  following questions:

1) IMMT is schedule to be on August 21, as such should I be doint HIM Week 16 and have IM week 20 arrive on race week ?

2) I have been sick since this Monday (kids started back school and brought home virus !!) therefore, I havent trained at all and dont expect anything except maybe a bike ride with friends on Friday. Should I just forget the transition week and follow transition week 3 next week or do week 2 ?

Thank you

  • Francis,

I made the TSR based on the date you gave me, which was 8/16, not 8/21. Not a big deal, on 5/23 load up the plan to end on 8/21 vs 8/14 and you'll be good.

Fine to make what changes you feel are need to the Transition weeks but I'd still like you to start the Run Durability plan on the date I indicated.

    Good luck!
  • Hi Coach,

I've seen Northeast Regional Camp, Lake Placid, June 9-12 post and was wondering if it will be a good fit in my planning to attend (that would be great since driving from Montreal isnt far!)

Im doing MT70.3 on June 26 and IMMT on 8/21/2016 as you know. Im a bit more concerned concerning the 70.3, but I think it will make a great nice training week end.

    Thanks!

The camp will be a good fit for you. You'll learn a TON and 2wks between it and MT70.3 is enough. Good luck!

  • Coach,

Thinking of adding Muskoka 70.3 on July 10, 2016, which is 2 weeks after 70.3 MT is 5 weeks before IMMT. What are your thoughts on adding a 70.3 between the 2 races ? Will it be too much.

I am also thinking of also adding IMAZ or IMFL in November 2016, which is about 2 months and a half after IMMT.

This is my 2nd year racing 140.6's and third racing 70.3's.

What are your thoughts on this ? Im aready registered to the 2 Mont-Tremblant, but wish to add more to my season, but wondering if I am adding too much.

    Thanks!

I am also thinking of also adding IMAZ or IMFL in November 2016, which is about 2 months and a half after IMMT. Either of these works, though a 2nd IM in one season is tough. Recommend IMAZ over IMFL, as it's a better EN-attended race.

    Hi Coach R,

I updated my TSR by adding IMAZ and the Northeast Regional Camp: Lake Placid

    Thanks!

Ok, thanks. I'll redo this for you.

  • Hey Coach,

just looked back to my TSR and I have to load GF plan on 2/14 but its not mentionned if its advanced or another "level".

Every other plans to load are tagged as advanced in my TST, I guess I have to go with ADV GF ?

    Thanks !
  • Sorry about that. Yes, please use the Advanced GF plan
  • Hey Rich,

I see in the training plan that the 10 weeks are listed, should I change to the advanced 10 weeks or stay on the 8 weeks ? If changing to I still keep the ending date as 4/3 ?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Rich!

quick question regarding my TSR, it mentions to load on 4/3 the advanced HIM plan to end on 6/26 but on 5/30 it mentions to load the advanced IM plan to end on 8/21.

I guess the good answer is to load the advanced IM on 5/30 and have advanced HIM ended on 5/30 ?

    Thanks!

Nope. Please follow the instructions in the TSR as I've given you. I'm having you do weeks #X-Y of the HIM plan before transitioning over to weeks #A-B of the IM plan.

    Good luck!

  • oh, ok got it !

I'll have to hack a bit the trainings to be done (IM week 12) during 70.3MT race week, we'll discuss when we get there.

    Thanks!
  • Hi Rich,

I just looked ahead the upcoming weeks and unfortunatly adv IM camp week is the week where we have our family holidays that I can't move.

As such, should I switch week 14 and 15 or switch 16 and 15. Either works for me, I'll adjust with whats best and you recommand.

Week 18 is final race rehearsal

    Thank you!

excited to enter year 2 within the team after IMAZ.
  • Great! Good luck!
  • Rich,

Watched your webminar will doing my training this afternoon and this made be think about my next season.

I didnt yet choose my 2nd IM distance for next year and this year was the first time I was going for 2 IM within the same season.

    some background:

    1) I've been with EN since 1 year
    2) Prior to joining EN, I only did IMMT, therefore I consider next year as being year 2 of the 3 years plan.
    3) Prior to triathlon, I was a runner averaging around 2800km/year (sorry dunno in Miles)
    4) I want keep doing the 2 IM and 1 HIM per season, I found it hard to kick back the training wheel post IMMT but when back on the training wagon I really enjoyed it and even find it "easier" during that 2nd build.
    5) "my thing" as mentioned in your webinar is to qualify for Kona either by qualification or legacy, I would prefer a qualification but still dont consider myself FOP (43 in my AG last IMMT)

    6) I dont really have time or any limiters regarding work as I have a really flexible work schedule and have 8 weeks of vacations/year which I usually use half for family vacation and other half use for special big volume training.

    My question:

Would you go for Ironman Louisville which is closer to IMMT or should I do again IMAZ ? I had IMNC or IMMD in my mind but they are too weather risky.

Either we can exchange here or we could have a talk in Arizona in a few weeks, just wanna be sure to decide before IMAZ registration opens.

    Thanks!
