Possible emergency for IM Choo
Morning Coach P, I think I got an emergency but I need your advice. I did the normal training volume for week 18 (which I felt good on, tired but good). But last week (week 19) I had an unexpected class I had to attend that was out of town. The class was not overly physically demanding but their were long days, usually 10+hrs a day. So now we're in week 20 and I need some direction. Below is what I have an idea for but want to make sure:
Sunday: B-120, R-30; Monday: S-60, B-180, R-30; Tuesday: S-60, R-70; Wednesday: S-60, B-90; Thursday: B-?, R-?; Friday: R-30, Sat. rest

THIS.IS.NOT.AN.EMERGENCY.
You are plenty fit. DO NOT try to make up for a couple missed workouts in the last week before your race. Just follow the training plan AS WRITTEN, If I'm reading your idea for your week, it looks like you were thinking about doing a 60 min swim on Monday AND a 3hr bike AND a 30 min run. DO NOT DO THAT. It is way too much work this late in the game.
Just pull up your training plan and do what it says. Seriously, this is the time to taper and have your legs fresh for the race. The only thing you can do at this point by working too hard is to not show up fresh which is WAAAYYY worse than a handful of missed workouts.
Follow the plan as written for this last week...
Eric,
Listen to JW. The tapering has made you crazy in the head. See you in a few days!
Crosby, hope you are well and your taper is going good. I too am looking forward to seeing you and the others this weekend!!
Thanks again to you both.
