Rest and heal up. No apology necessary for not updating us sooner. I owe you many thanks for your words before IMLP this year. They got me through the race for sure. Which reminds me I never posted my race report. Again thanks for your support I'm glad to return it anyway I can.
Wow. Just logged on today and saw the saga. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Glad you stopped the Garmin. But that dang truck couldn't have gotten through if you were doing 14 mph. Jeez.
We arrived home yesterday afternoon. Went straight to the hospital to check in. Thankfully Steve works at the hospital so we were only there 2 hours rather than 4 or 5 hours. He got some xrays done (best xrays we have seen to date. You can really see the multiple breaks of his 7-11 ribs) and blood work. Dr. listened to his chest and things are good. Dr called this morning with blood results, but we missed it. Waiting to hear back from him. There is some fluid in the lung, but it does not seem to look different than when we left the hospital 4 days ago. Steve is not having the best sleeps at night, but is trying to be as mobile as possible during the day when the meds are in action. He has been told by the Dr. that he will be off of work for probably 2 months. He is going to go nuts. Luckily we have a treadmill he can walk on and we will set his bike up on the trainer so you can ride for short periods of time. He has been instructed not to do any physio at this time. He may be back before 2 months, but this is the outside time line the doctor has given him. He is very bruised and tires easily, but that is to be expected. We arrived home to a tupperware container of fresh food on our door step, which saves me from having to shop today. My other job is closed until after our Thanksgiving which is this coming Monday, so I have time to unpack, clean, do laundry etc... Steven and I can not thank you all enough for your support. Next up....recovery and crossing our fingers and toes that we will not get a huge bill in the mail
Gordon, just walked him around the neighbourhood. I will ask him to refrain from putting in a macro thread for feedback on his walking routine e.g. 1 loop every day , then 1 loops 2x a day, then 2 loops everyday etc...
Glad you are both home safe. I hope this experience in the US will not tarnish your opinion of us down here and you will visit again.
Reading the accounts of the accident really helps me to appreciate how short life is and what a great time we live in with respect to medical and trauma care. I hope Steve recovers well from his physical and emotional wounds and comes back a better athlete.

Brenda,
Thanks for the update. Keep Steve out of the Macro forum thread for awhile. Rest up over the Thanksgiving weekend.
