Your favorite post run/bike drink

 

Hey All!

 

Just thought i'd get a thread started to share recipes, as i've been experimenting with my tastebuds recently.

So heres mine....

Runs of about an hour or so.... I like to mix half scoop of whey, with a banana and water.

Runs of more than 90 mins ..... I like to mix half scoop of whey, with a banana and add honey and coconut milk. (I usually fancy something sweeter)

Short Bike sessions (60 - 90 mins)..... Same as my shorter run...

Loooong bike sessions.... Same as my longer run, but throw in some extra berries if i fancy.

 

Very simple, but gives me the right sweetness, and nutrition to keep me going till lunch.

I'd like to hear what other throw 'in to the mix'  image

    the past couple years i have been troubled with tummy issues do to the nutrition (sugars on the course so i have changed my hydration to two basic elements

    U can-1 scoop per hour on anything over 2 hours ....on the hour every hour

    Water with 1 scoop of watermelon BCAA per 24 oz and has really seemed to work 

    i just increase the hydration depending on the heat index but usually around 30oz an hour give or take

    i have changed to not taking any gels and or other foods on bike or run and tried to utilize my fat stores for energy...so far so good

  • I like the banana, whey and water as well. I generally use a full scoop thiugh. I also cut up the banana and freeze it and make sure the water I add is cold. Frozen banana + cold water + chocolate peanut butter whey + Ninja. Tastes like a milk shake. Strawberry works (for me) too. Have not tried vanilla.

    post drink is  a couple scoops any flavor whey protein...body readily accepts it...then a beer or three

  • I actually use this product since a year.. but about to change, cant stand the taste anymore.. but its really awesome!

  • Diet coke!!  As soon as I open the garage door after returning from a hot summer ride ... I reach for one of those and man does that hit the spot!

    Personally, I'm a cider man myself. Can beat a nice cool Irish Cider after a mammoth day image
  • I go for a diet coke or a diet orange sunkist post-workout, for the pick-me-up. Then I jump into endurox recovery drink, then my meal.

    My go to meal, post long ride, is a big ol chipotle burrito. Then a nap!
