Welcome your NOV OS Team Leaders

Hi Team, this just might be the first time, at least since I have been Race Director, that we have 3 females leading the NOV OS. I would like to take the time to introduce you to them. I hope everyone has an amazing Outseason, but I do not see how that can not happen with such amazing leaders guiding the way.

Your Bike Thread Leader is Leslie Schneider

Leslie began here triathlon career in 1996 with a sprint distance race in Central Park. Over the years she did sprint, Olympic, and 70.3 races.  But her dream was to do an Ironman. So, for her 50th birthday year,2013, she joined EN to help her with IMLP.  Unfortunately she had numerous health issues that spring and DNF’d.  Redemption came in 2014 at IMMT.  The excellent EN training program along with the incredible team mojo helped her cross that finish line.  She couldn’t have done it without the EN team. She thought that was it for Ironman distance but the EN team spirit is addicting and she am back after a hiatus with a hope to complete IMLP in 2016.  She works in volunteer management at the Bronx Zoo and lives in Ossining, NY with her cyclist boyfriend and a few cats.  She really looks forward to training with all of you this NovOS and sharing the journey to get in the best shape possible for the 2016 season.

Your Run Thread Leader is Rachel Hawe

Hi folks!  I'm Rachel and I'll be the Run Captain!  This is my 4th Outseason and I continue to learn and improve every year.  I've done 3 IM's (IMWI '13, IMCDA '15, IMWI '15), recently coming off a 70 min PR at Wisconsin that has me pumped!  I live in Chicago so I'll be on the trainer, but try to avoid the treadmill except when it is really really really unpleasant/dangerous outside.  I am finishing up my PhD this year so I do research the majority of my time, and work part-time as a physical therapist as well.  I'm taking a break from long course stuff this year, but will be doing the January Volume Camp, the Flying Pig Marathon in May, and then having fun with short course stuff in the summer.  My other goal is to be 20 lbs lighter by May!

I'm looking forward to sharing the pain this OS with all of you.  You will get out of the forums what you put into them, so please join the fun and share the highs and lows with everyone.  Get smart, MAKE FRIENDS, Go Fast!

Your Core Thread Captain is Laura Lindquist

Laura Race Captain

The 2016 Outseason is HERE and I am pumped to be your CORE CAPTAIN! Here's a little background about me. I live in Manchester, Connecticut with my husband, Steve and my Akita, Dante.  I am an elementary STEM teacher (science, technology, engineering and math), and I absolutely love what I do- even on those days you want to pull your hair out. I also teach robotics after schools and on the weekends.  Triathlon has changed my life.  I did my first triathlon 3 years ago- and I was INSTANTLY hooked.  Through this sport I have pushed myself to do more than what I ever thought possible.  It is my happy place.  Triathlon has taught me to stay positive, believe, and WORK. The community that EN has is one unlike any other, and I am honored to be a part of it.  Through supporting each other, I know that this can be the best OS yet! Let's DO WORK!
