  • Thomas, congratulations on your first Olympic distance race! That's a big step up from the sprint distance. There's not a lot of room in transition so maybe try it without the bucket next time and just sit on the ground? Having a separate bike/run computer is nice but not necessary. Maybe next time wear the computer on your wrist from the beginning that way you don't have to fiddle with it in T2, just a thought. Do an OS! There is so much improvement made over the course of an OS. You will be amazed what happens. Great job out there, keep up the good work!

    Doug thanks for the feedback!

I'm in NOS right now and I know this is going to be an epic season! Yeah I know the bucket is clunkie but, I had a L4-L5 disc injury last year so it save me from banging around on the ground.

This year I'll have actual Aero bars (redshift sports) so the watch will be able to stay on my wrist. I really wanted to leave it on the wrist for this race...

Lol I believe I included it in the report, but I almost dropped my watch on the bike in the first 2 miles! some how I had some cat like reflexes and caught it mid air just like a goalie glove saving a wrist shot!

    Thanks again for the thoughts!

  • Way to go on meeting most of your goals! I like the finish with a smile goal myself. At the end of my first Oly race, I said never again. It was the heat ns my overheated brain talking. I did anothe Oly and now three HIMs. Good luck n the OS!
