Can't upload PowerTap data...help please!

So I've got a 1998 PT wired rear wheel.  The head unit seems to work fine, but when I try to upload the data to my computer, I get the following error message:  "No supported devices were found.  Please make sure your device is connected an turned on."  I've plugged the cord into multiple slots and checked to make sure the head unit says "Host", but still nothing.

I've downloaded the latest version of the PowerAgent software, and ever since then it hasn't worked.  Any suggestions?

  • Maybe the new version of software doesn't support the wired version. Can you go back to the older version? Have you tried Device Agent from training peaks?
  • Call Saris customer support and ask them if a firmware update may be needed....

  • Bill,

Wow a 1998 PT wired wheel!  That thing needs to be in a museum.   Can you get ahold of another head unit to test that out and see if it's pickup up anything.  How about the cord?

Good to see you still kicking around the forums, unfortunately its a problem.

  • Thanks everyone. Yes, Gordon, the 1998 wheel is almost an antique, but it works great, so would hate to spend the $ to replace. Guy needs some need Fischer Speedmax skis too you know! I'll give all of these a try. I knew there had to be a 3rd party solution out there too, so thanks for the DeviceAgent tip Mark. I'll give that a go.
  • It is getting close to ski season, assuming it ever cools down.  Treat yourself to some new skis prior to the big race.  Nov 3rd and no snow up here, definitely a warm fall so far.

  • OK...so I got the Device Agent working, so it's not the cradle. Only problem now is that I don't want to pay to get at the detail in Training Peaks...I've got a lot of problems!
