Hi coach! I hate to hit you with a question right off the bat, but I am doing a 30 mile mountain bike race Saturday nov 7 and wondered how to best adjust my week for this. Also, I am a masters swim member and like swimming Thursday morning/Sunday afternoon. If I do that, should I slide my Thursday w/o to Friday and add the swim to my Sunday run? Thanks!

  • Susan - No worries...that's what I am here for! I say that you plan on replacing your Saturday ride with that race...that's the easy part. Given the week layout below, I would plan on Friday OFF (losing that THU ride, but pedal harder in the race) and race Sat!

    As for the rest of your week...here's what I am thinking. Note the Monday rest day...and keeping the run portion of your run to Thursday so your Friday doesn't crowd your Saturday.

    Mon - OFF
    Tues - Bike/run as planned.
    Wed - Run as planned.
    Thu - Masters Swim (AM), Ez Run in PM
    Fri - Thursday Bike (no run)
    Sat - Sat bike/run as planned.
    Sun - Long run (AM), Masters Swim (PM)
