ML's 2015 IMFLA RR

    As usual, it was great to meet some more amazing EN'ers.                                                                                                                          

    Not exactly the day I had planned, some things I can fix/work on, some things are just dumb luck!

   Race morning- The Desoto shorts, that I was going to wear all day to minimize T time, had a seam come apart at the pad while I was dressing??? Plan B meant that I was changing in transition.

   Swim- 1:39:xx  I didn't wear a wetsuit, hindsight says I should've. On the second loop, at the sand bar got torpedoed in the ribs by another competitor( No one's fault). The ribs would affect my whole day. Other than  that the swim went ok, sometimes I freak out a little in crowds, but I didn't , and I was in a crowd the whole time.

    T-1 13:19 I had to change, when I had planned not to-just wasted time. I'll have a better plan B in the future.

   Bike- 6:33:xx  Bike was fairly uneventful, my ribs were bothering me a little, power off a little( IF .58, VI 1.07), and HR stayed fairly low ~130 bpm. Nutrition plan went well, p'ed 3x (not on bike).

   T-2  9:51 Same as T-1

   Run-  6:34:xx This is where things got difficult, just couldn't take the pounding. Run/walk to get done.

   Total: 15:11:42

   Liked the course and venue. Registered for 2016.

  • Thanks for sharing!!! That run was challenging considering it was a flat course. You seemed to have kept a level head dispite the wardrobe malfunction. Besides having a backup plan for race outfit in 2016, do you have any clear process goals in mind to make 2016 more enjoyable/successful in your minds eye. image. Way to go!!
