bike maintenance question
end of season overhaul time.
I have noticed that one of my rear derailleur pulley wheels is really stiff. Hard to turn it. Also one of my pedals is stiff as well.
Should I be replacing these parts? I worry about the energy lost.

Depending on your pedal, the same should probably apply. I had a frozen speed play one time. Took it in to have it greased and the first mechanic said it was shot. I took it to another shop, the mechanic spent about 2 minutes with a grease gun and it was magically healed. (still riding on it two years later).
I think that I will take the pedal in and see if someone will work it over. They aint cheap.
The rd pulleys are cheap so if I can't fix those ill just replace them. I compared them to the pulleys on my road bike and the difference is petty major.
Now to figure out how to get the pulleys off. This is good though. After IMFL last saturday I promised myself no exercise for two weeks. Taking my bike apart will help!
I think I'll do that today since I can't remember when I greased my pedals.
Here's a link to speedplay accessories where you can see the grease gun but you can get a gun like it at a hardware store http://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.merchandise##
yes please grease your speedplay pedals regularly.
I don't know about electronic shimano, but for mechanical shimano I always replace the pulleys right away because they are crap.
you can get more expensive ones but these are good drag/price ratio.
