USAT vs WTC Club Points

I'm looking at getting more involved in a small local Tri Club that is focused on USAT points for their team.  Is it possible to race an Ironman race and have my "ironman/WTC" points count toward EN's pursuit of being WTC TriClub Champs, and also have the points from that same race count toward my local club's USAT club points?  Or are the WTC points and the USAT points all tied together somehow?

  • My understanding is, yes, kind of. If you are registered with EN under WTC they will score you for their club competition automatically. Conversely, USAT scores based on club membership rosters sent in by official USAT triathlon clubs, and for those races so designated. However, Ironman is not a distance for which USAT will set a club national championship. Sometimes, USAT will have a winter club competition for most miles swum, biked and run. But overall, their club competition program is very different than Ironman's.
