Stephan's Macro Thread
Hi Coach Rich,
I'm enjoying the new focus of run durability this year and the lower volumes of month 9 Run Durability plan.
Signed up for IMMOO, and have already signed up for Trinona International Distance tri June 12, 2016.
The plan I am on has me doing a half ironman distance on June 19th the following week. I haven't signed up for it yet. It is a new one in Madison, "Wisconsin Milkman Triathlon." There is another local olympic distance race the same weekend. My question is this: Would it be more beneficial for me to do the half ironman than the olympic? Or, does it really not matter. I think my heart is in staying local with my friends and skipping the Half this year. Not sure, but wonder if my goal is to lock in a solid run this year, does the half ironman get me there or can two olympic distance races in a row get me there too?

Hey Stephan,
It would be more valuable for your IMWI goals to have you in the HIM vs Short Course plan for weeks, leading into that transition to the IM plan in late June in route to IMWI. In short, your current schedule with the half is better for IMWI...or you could still use that HIM plan but race an Oly instead.
It's not a big deal either way but I would be better to have you in the HIM vs SC plans for that block.
Let me know if you need anything else!
