Ironman France All figured out
SO I was sitting at work looking at the IM france elevation map and realized I have no idea how the hills will affect my time... so I figured the race out using this site:
http://bikecalculator.com/veloMetric.html
Setting no wind (ya I know but seriously how can I account for that?) and power at 205, riding in hoods etc.. I figured out the bike hills speed and time.
Cote de la Condamine has a 10% Grade for 500m should do it at 7.61kph for 3.94minutes
Cote de Gattieres has a 4% grade for 4.2km should do at 16.09kph for 15.66minutes
Col de L'ecre has:
3.5% grade for 6km at 17.5kph for 2.06m
7% grade for 3 km at 10.47kph for 17.19m
2% grade for 4km at 22.78kph for 10.53m
6% grade for 8km at 11.91kph for 40.30m
Col de la Sine has a 2% Grade for 1.4km at 22.78kph for 3.69m
Cote de Saint Pons has a 3% grade for 2km at 19.09kph for 6.29 minutes and a 4% grade for 5km at 16.09kph for 18.64 minutes
Cote de Coursegoules starts with a 5% grade for 1 km at 13.74kph for 6.29min then turns 7% for 100m at 10.47kph for .57m
Finally with Cote du Broc at a measley 2% grade for 2km at 22.78kph for 5.27m
That only leaves 142.8km for the rest of the bike course. Assuming its all flat (its not) its 31.80kph for 269.41m
Total bike time is 6.77hrs
Swim time is 1.25hr
Run time is 4.5hr
Total IM time 12.52
Yea I know it leaves a lot out but its fun to play with numbers. Plus looking at kph makes it seem faster
