Bike Computer - Turn by Turn?

Looking for an inexpensive (willing to buy used) bike computer that has turn by turn instructions.  I am not looking for anything particularly fancy, just something to keep me on course if say I want to travel to LP or Chattanooga to preview the Ironman course.  Any advice?

  • I've been happy with my Garmin 500 for turn by turn and anything else I need. Cheaper than a lot of things out there!
  • I have a Garmin 800 that does Turn-by-Turn, willing to sell for $150.
  • Hey Mike, I am interested. Can you tell me a little more about it? Can you download certain routes to it such as LP or Chattanooga Ironman courses?
  • Yes, all you need is a course file from 'map my ride' and it will do turn-by-turn directions. I did the exact same thing when I was practicing for IMWI. There are a bunch of articles if you google 'turn-by-turn garmin 800', it was not hard to do and I know first hand that it did work - sorry I cannot be more precise, it is kind of hard (for me) to explain and there are a bunch of tutorials out there.

  • Jordan, the process of creating a route via Garmin Connect and uploading it to your Garmin Edge 800 is quite intuitive. I've done it at least 25 times for various routes. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
