Anyone buy a new bike from Cyclestime?

I've been shopping around new tri bikes, and like most of you, am always looking for a good deal. I stumbled upon this website online and was wondering if anyone has either bought a bike through them or might know anything about them before I go any further. The deals are pretty good.

Thanks!

  • Brad, I would use those prices to negotiate a deal at your local high end bike shop. I would rather buy from someone I know than anything on the internet where I will have to have it set up somewhere. I know you had Todd get your fit together. He also builds bikes and he is not ridiculously far from you. Just saying.
  • Great advice Ed. Also noticed after I posted my question that this outfit is based in Indonesia which makes me a bit leery. I've been noticing a trend at the shops near me that they do not like to inventory tri bikes anymore. They've told me that demand is not that strong and that they don't want to get stuck with tri bikes at the end of the season. This makes it a bit more difficult to actually get on a bike to narrow down my search. I may just have to go off of Todd's list and pick one that has the best bells and whistles for the price.
  • One other thing to note, many of the brands do not allow posting a sales price of their product online. Trek is very spiky that way. If you like Felt & Cervelo, Placid Planet stocks those brands and Kenny is very knowledgeable. If I lived closer to Todd & wanted a new bike, I would most likely see him.

  • Thanks again Ed. Was under the assumption that Todd only sold 1 or 2 brands. Maybe he can get others. I just sent him an email... We'll see what he says.
  • I dont know for the area where you live but here I was able to order a bike from my LBS, they managed everything for me. They also got a new one under warranty 10 days before IMMT, I owe them fidelity for life!

I was looking online as you are doing.. but wonder what would had happen for me to deal directly with warranty request...
  • Most of the time these asia based websites are found to be scams.
