Sheri D Outseason
Hi Coach P,
I've made it through Christmas break. Started strong with composition in mind, but slowly gave way to a little less Christmas treats than last year, but more than I'd planned ;/
My workouts have been getting done mostly. I've missed 1 or 2 plus core consistently for a few weeks now. But once kids start back to school tomorrow, it will be 100% here out.
1. My question is, before kids got out of school - when I thought I was doing so great with my workouts etc, I went for a bike ride (outside) and was a little disappointed in how it went. Certainly wasn't used to the wind, but my legs just seemed so weak. I'm thinking they have lost a little steam. I feel like I am pushing pretty hard in my short workouts, but I'm concerned that I don't feel near as strong as I should be for the amount of effort I'm putting out. Is there an area I should focus on to fix this or is this normal?
2. I've been exclusively on the trainer (except for that one ride a few weeks back) and I'm getting so bored, but I worry that riding outside won't get me the interval specifics I need. Should I stay on the trainer or get the outdoor time in?
3. Lastly, how would it affect things if I move my ride/run (fri) to sat & do my hard run workout on fri instead? I really want to ride outside sat with groups.
thanks & happy new year,
sheri

So I say that your Fri/Sat switch is okay, but it really puts you in a tough place with no time off from mid/week to week/end workouts. I'd rather you bike hard Sat with group in place of Sat ride...and did the hard run on Sunday (if sunday is workout option...something says no to me). If not that, then go:
Mon - Tues bike/run
Tues - WEd Run
Wed - Thu Bike/Run
Thu - Off / Core
Fri - Hard run from Sun
Sat - Group ride of quality
Sun - Off/core
Let me know!
