Looking for a May/June 70.3

I'm looking for a May/June 70.3 for my wife. I've encouraged her to do Rev3 Knoxville, which is one of my favorite races, but she says it's too hilly for her. She's a marathoner/ultra-marathoner who has done one 70.3 (Muncie in 2012)...and she said it was harder than any ultra she'd ever done. She's had a few injuries and is looking to try triathlon again for the cross-training aspect.

So, assuming I can't talk her into Rev3 Knoxville, you got a good race you like in the mid-south in May or June?

Anyone here done Toughman Indiana? Or heard of it? It appears to be managed by "Heartland Endurance Sports." It's set for May 2016 in Noblesville, IN.

  • I'd like to do Coeur d'Alene 70.3 on June 25. Anyone else? It's just a 50 minute drive from the Spokane airport, and Southwest airlines accommodates cycling cases better than the others.
  • I've done the original toughman in NY, not familiar with the regional events, but the overall management is quite good
  • I wouldn't describe Indiana as mid-south, but there are races in Kansas and Minnesota in June if you're willing to go that far.
  • I'm doing 70.3 Raleigh, it's bound to be a good time!
  • Texas has a very tough 70.3 in June "Buffalo Springs 70.3" if you feel the need to be challenge with heat and hills.  It is in and out of a Canyon several times on the bike and once on the run leg.......
  • I was going to say St Croix since 2017 will be the last year for this iconic race.  However, if you don't want hills then I recommend IM 70.3 Gulf Coast (Panama City Beach, FL).  With the exception of one bridge it is flat, flat, flat.
