Joe Matchette Micro Thread

CoachP,

I just started the JAN OS and am looking forward to getting back into the groove.  My main issue at the moment is that I injured my left calf while doing my Air Force Fitness Test on an indoor track.  Sloeus muscle is not torn, only "strained."  The PT is finally going to let me start "running" this week.....quotes because all I am supposed to do is 1min jog / 4 min run for 30 minutes.

Soooooo....since my running is going to be sub-par for a few more weeks, how do you suggest I ramp up my bike training?

Happy New Year my friend!

  • Sounds like somebody needs to warm up better... image good thing it's just strained. I like Tue/Thu/Sat OS bikes as planned, then Sunday steady ride of 60-90'. You can do some big gear / low cadence intervals there. All other days are swim or off...please make sure you are foam rolling / stretching / mobilizing, etc...you'll need some love. Then check out the run reentry protocol in the wiki! http://members.endurancenation.us/Resources/Wiki/tabid/91/Default.aspx?topic=Running+Master

HNY to you and your MUCH better half! image
  • You are probably correct....I should have just stopper running when I felt something weird. Should have. Not I. Not stubborn-ass me. But I will solve that in the future by not running ever again on that *damn* track. 16 laps for a mile and a half was just brutal...

Gen chuckled when I read her what you wrote....says HNY to you as well.
  • Good call...just spoke to Susan Lindemann, who apparently is in your hood. Super nice! Thanks for the referral!
