Adjusting for Injury and Delayed Start to Season

Hello Coach,

Recent back spasm means I am unable to start my OS plan (currently beginning Jan 4 and lasting 14 weeks); based on similar issues in the past, I suspect I will not be good-to-go for another 2-3 weeks. I am currently able to bike (though Bike Test and Zone 4-5 efforts are off the table) and swim; running is out.

How should I handle this delay? In a world where I am back on track in 3 weeks, should I simply jump into week 4 of the existing OS? Or, reload my plan to begin week 1 of the OS at that point, keeping my transition to HIM constant (4/11) for my event on 6/18?

Thanks,

Marcus

  • Sorry to hear about your back. When you're good to go, reload the OS so that you start in wk1 but maintain your transition to the HIM plan to happen on 4/11. Good luck!
