Casco Bay Islands SwimRun

This looks like fun.  More of an adventure race than anything else , 2 person Teams , some crazy rules , like paddles/PB's/fins allowed on the swim, teams must be tethered during swim portions and remain within 10 yds of each other even on land. Looks like 9 run segments totaling a little over 9 miles of scrambling over the islands , 10 swim segments totaling 6960 yds connecting the islands , ending on Peaks Island in Casco Bay.  Heather and I have done the 2.4 mile swim from Peaks Island to Portland the last 3 years so are familiar with the very cold water.  I talked her into teaming up with me and we applied for this race via the merit and lottery application process's .

  • Agreed Tim, looks like an awesome adventure - hope you get in! My wife has a swim background and this would be right up her alley. Unfortunately we won't be able to do it this year though. Let us know how the application process works out.

  • @Randy check into the Peaks to Portland Swim in July . 2.4 miles , cold , usually tide friendly and fast.
