Wireless Headphone Recommendations Please

Can anyone recommend wireless headphones?  Sound quality is important but not over functionality and sweat resistance.  Jaybirdsports has lifetime warranty against sweat so I'm starting my comparisons there.  Thanks!

  • I really like my Jaybirds.
  • Thanks. Do you recall which ones you have?
  • I have trouble with headphones staying in my ears....I can't use earbuds. So I found these and LOVE THEM!!

  • I highly recommend the Jaybirds.  I have the Bluebird model, which is older. The new model looks really nice.

I've used them for probably 4 years. I have gone through several pair (I sweat like a whore in church) and every time a pair died, I simply called their 800 number, told them the headphones died, sent the old once back and they replaced them lickety-split-rickety-ticks like. While I hate having to use their customer service, it's simply a fact of life with headphones, and their service is top notch (one time they died on a Wednesday before a weekend HM and they shipped me the new pair overnight even before I sent back the old pair).

Let me know if you have any questions.
  • Amazon often has bluetooth wireless headphones on sale for $20...I've bought these and they work great and if I lose them or if you damage them you are only out $20. I have used this current pair for two season including lots of long, sweaty rides. Note I don't use them for running...I use an old shuffle as I don't like to run with a phone.
  • Another vote for Jaybird. Mine are a few years old and they came with "ear hooks" which are great. I always had trouble with the buds popping out during a run, but the hooks keep everything in place.
  • These are AWESOME because your ears can still hear the things going on around you....

  • Okay... a stupid wireless headphone question - looks like I am buying a new TV for the pain cave. Will likely go the Smart TV for Netflix. What do I need to run a pair of the Jaybird headphones off of the TV, so that I can listen without bothering people around me? Thanks -
  • Hey Dino, I'm with you in that i don't like anything that gets close to noise canceling because of the loss of situational awareness.  These look cool, but how is the sound quality?  Are they comparable to the sound quality of typical ear buds?  thanks!

  • +1 on the After Shokz I have the treks titanium. I have pretty bad tinnitus for more than 20 years so am not much of an audiophile and am a bad person to ask about sound quality. FWIW though, they sound great to me...
But my experience with my Jay bird blue buds was that:
    * I couldn't get them to stay in my ears once the sweat started pouring even with the little wing thingies
    * replaced them twice in a year for sweat damage (they were great about this with helpful customer service)
    * on more than one occasion I had an earbud come off in my ear and I had to remove with a tweezer after my run (extremely annoying)

I am an "above average" sweater BTW, "extreme" if you ask my wife who kindly does my laundry for me.
  • As usual, thanks to everyone for their input. I rarely use headphones anywhere other than the treadmill or stationary trainer so I'm not worried about not hearing what is going on around me. And because I'm indoors, sweat doesn't evaport as well so based on the life-time sweat warranty, I'm going to try the Jaybird BlueBuds.
