It has been a while but due to allergy issues, I used to get walking pneumonia about three times a year or so. I basically used four things to get me functional. Robatussin, Sudafed, ibuprofen, and whatever antibiotics they would give me. Now a days when something like this shows up I use airborne like 4 times a day as well. Rest is the big key and the meds should fight the infection as long as they are strong enough. I would give it a couple weeks from when the antibiotics started before I would get too worried. You will be up and at em before you know it.
I also used to get head cold, post-nasal drip, leading to bronchitis on a regular basis. Turns out that wheat, sugar, alcohol, were tearing down my system. You can get an blood allergy test for foods, but I dont test positive for allergies for those things, nevertheless as soon as I start ingesting them, bam, hello sickness. I've now removed them from my diet, as much as possible: sugar and wheat are always tricky. I havent had even a cold in over 2 years.
My advice is try an elimination diet, remove the biggies: dairy, eggs, soy, grains, and sugar, turn up the volume on high density nutrition foods: fruit, greens, vegetables, as well as vitamin supplements: good one-a-day multi, and Vit. C. Get extra sleep, as much as possible. You may want to get tested for defeciency in vitamin B and vitamin D. MANY americans are deficient in both. I was after years of getting sick and eating food that made me sick.
Thats my 1 off experience and advice. Hope you start feeling better soon!!!
