  • Ed- you bring up a great point. We have to be able to revert back to ol' skool hard work when the gadgets go AWOL. even it means that our pretty little log might have an outlier or our STRAVA ego takes a hit. Bottom line, work is work. Quads and lungs don't give a crap what the internet thinks we did. Nice job righting the ship and getting it done!
  • Still playing catch up. Was able to get Thursday workout done yesterday. Decided to add Official EN warm up at beginning for some extra TITS. Followed by 60 minutes with 4x4 at (1.08, 1.08, 1.09, 1.09). Hopefully get in Saturday wko tomorrow and start Week 4 with everyone else.
  • After a hard run, I really didn't feel like riding yesterday. :-( But the weather here in Tucson was a gorgeous 65 degrees and sunny And I was thinking of all you Snowzilla sufferers and figured I better go get it done. Plus, I couldn't go bike/run accessories and bike shopping till I got it done! My goal for the 20 min "Best Effort" was to keep cadence at </= 90 and if I could do that in Z4, awesome. I'm a masher and my usual way to get the power up is to drop the cadence. And left to my own devices to just ride and have fun, I hang out in the 75-80 range. So- how did I do? Whenever I looked at the computer, I was around 90. But the stats show I hung out 86-88. Grrr. And most of it was in Z3. Grrr again. Oh well. That's why we train. I'll get better! Next week, I'll set the computer to beep at me and I think I'll do better.
  • Big week for all! I very much enjoy reading all the posts/battles taking place here!

My Saturday Week 7 cage fight: https://www.strava.com/activities/476706320

Over cooked it a little bit and suffered on the Sunday run.

    Sleep hard tonight all!

  • Rode at my local team/bike shops lab on a computrainer Saturday and did the 2x20' because
a)i just KNOW how to push here...this is where I did all my hard training when I started in the sport
    b) I was surrounded by friends...so much easier to push with others working too!
    c) I forgot my phone in my coat and didn't check the wo beforehand. 2x13" ooops!
    d) I knew we'd be lunching afterwards...we always do. image

It felt good to work. I had to swag the numbers up for the computrainer, but I know what a 2x20 feels like effort and hr wise and it seemed about right. I don't have numbers or percents, but going up the stairs my legs told me "Good Job! We are tired!!!" image

In other news, I sold my very first tri bike, the Red Devil. It was hard! My friend bought her. She is newer to the sport and super excited to have her first tri bike. I had fun helping to spend her money at the shop getting her first pair of tri shoes, cleats, new elbow pads, bar tape. I gave her a bunch of equipment (speedfil, cadence sensor, bottle cages) so she'll look like an old pro right outta the gate. It's like selling your first car! The memories lol! BUT...I promised my better half last year when I bought Bubbles the road bike I'd try to sell her, so I made go on that promise and have a few nickles to put in my triathlon stash. image
