Used Zipps; Good Deal?
I've rented Zipps 808s 2 times last year and thinking about buying used and only using for races. Is this a good deal?http://www.racedaywheels.com/used-wheels/
Thanks!

I bought a set from them several years ago (808 rear with a Powertap hub and a 404 front) and my wife is still using them...
Zipp wheels are built well and I have used them for up to 7 years of high volume before replacing. When buying used, you want to somehow make sure there are no cracks, especially around the spoke inserts.

@Doug, I'm with you, which is why I've been renting them. It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison to know the real time savings. However, I've had better than expected bike splits the times I've raced with them in IM and HIMs. I don't know if the improvement was from a better/fitter engine (me), psychological (from having fast aero wheels), or the actual wheels...maybe a combination. Also, at some point renting stops making sense...actually by the 9th rental ($160 per rental), you'll almost have paid the used price ($1500) .
A fine deal, but you could also get a new set of flo 90s, and enjoy an extra $600 in your pocket ...
