2016 Jan OS Week 5 !! Core...Comp..Calories

Let's keep on going ....week 5 is here!  Hope everyone is doing well,  My weight hasn't really changed, but i am pretty sure body comp has shifted a bit for me.  This one made me laugh this week - mindless eating or things that look so good and then you think...yea - so not worth the calories.  Enjoy your week!!  Keep up the great work on the core activities and food journals.  My core is definitely getting stronger, while I am not doing the core routine, I am doing my Kettlebell routine and it's making me stronger everyday.

  • I've lost 4-5 pounds since we started. I'm hungry a lot. That is all.
  • Well here we are 5th week core, not much to report but working hard at it. So here is an execise I have incorporated into my daily routine that hits the gluts. As we all know we need the gluts fit and firing to keep the running muscles toned and not over working the hammy's. I have towed the line this week on the weight, staying at 160 lbs which is alright with me, keep up the good week peeps !

  • My weight remains stable @ 149 now for three months (this is good). Here's some video of what I did instead of a 90 second plank. Garmin says I spent 1600 calories in 1.5 hours of moving time doing stuff like this today:

  • I got back in the pool and OMG my swim has improved. I've NEVER swam less than a 1:47 100y. On my first lap back in the pool I swam a 1:33. Yesterday I swam a 1:30. I'm not sprinting these. Holy cow the weeks of cords have payed off big time.
  • I just can NOT get my sh*t straight with my diet. Trying like heck to eat clean (racing weight method) but just seem to not have the focus to ask myself pre snack, second glass of wine, what I ask myself in EVERY hard workout when I want to quit....WHAT DO YOU WANT? I know what I want in my workouts and the body mass on the scale, but I never ask that question! GAHHHH! Sometimes I wish I was one of those folks who just eats to fuel their activity, not one who loves to eat!
  • Saturday to Saturday, I'm down a pound or so this week.  Ate crap yesterday and it was awesome.  I'm traveling out of the country on business- working lunches and dinners every day.  Oh my.  Goal is to not gain.  Since I'm not doing my bike commute (90 miles a week), I'll have to be extra careful.  I average 19K steps a day on Fitbit- will be interesting to see how next week goes!

Hang in there everybody!  Scale may not be moving, but I can see everyone's numbers going higher on the spreadsheet.  I did a 3:15 plank this week!!

  • OMG Trish - I am so with you! They had cupcakes at the cafe at my office this week - yes I ate one....and then another. Friday I at least circled them once and did ask the question do i REALLY want that?!?! unfortunately I lost the battle. I think I need to resign as your core/comp leader LOL.

WAY to Rock it Leslie! You are the poster person that I need. image

CHRIS - FANTASTIC news!!! If that doesn't get us going on the work...don't know what will - GREAT work.
  • My Cordz bulked up my carry on and I had to take them out so it would fit in the bin. The flight attendant thought I'm nuts for bringing them. I told her I had to keep up with my team- even traveling! I probably did sound a little fanatical. What seems normal to us is so odd to others.
So if you're feeling down about whatever you aren't accomplishing , just remember how far ahead of average you really are! We rock!!
