  • My first plank is up to 3:30! I found out last week that planking on tile is super hard- I was in a hotel all week and had to go to the hall to find some carpet. Push ups increasing. Feeling strong!
  • Okay so I figured I need to check in to this thread to get some accountability.  I made a goal to get in the 3 core sessions in last weeks run thread that was a fail.  So here I am starting week 1 as I've done relatively little on this front in the late couple months.
  • @Gordon... Same here. I have not been doing these at all. Starting this week !!!
    Let´s keep each other accountable
  • Yep week 7 is here. I spent a good hr ++ working on my core/strength/flex this morning. Everything seems to be going in the right direction. I feel strong and nimble on my feet when I am running. I reflect it to the work I have put in to stay strong and injury free. I am down 2 lbs this week to 158 and change. I associate that to the slight increase in the workload I put out in week 6. I don't see much more weight loss forth coming and if it is it has to be the right weight, not muscle mass. I like to keep my workouts fresh and interesting to keep me engaged. Here is a workout I incorperated a couple of month's ago to compliment my run/bike, enjoy and have a great week !

  • Just my personal Rant. This thread does not get a lot of text talk and looking at the spreadsheet not a lot of love to do this or not logged? Again I am going to say it. Of all the times to do the little things that have an overall positive impact on staying healthy, getting stronger, and making you more proficient in our 3 disciplines for your season, this is a component that should not be ignored. Well for me end of week 7, I am down 6 lbs just 2 lbs from in season race weight, stronger on the bike, my running is becoming bulletproof strong. I firmly believe that paying attention to the small details of improving your body comp/small complimentary muscle groups have a huge impact and will reap rewards further downstream in your trg. Nuff said week 7 is in the books !
  • Anyone who thinks 3 minutes is not very long has never done a plank!  I get so bored!  And how about that guy who set the world record last year with a 4 hour plank?  I know I'm near my end when I hear my heart pounding in my ears.  And I'm up to over 100 pushups- I can see my arms getting more defined!  But my back hurt Friday, so maybe my form was jacked up or I did too much.  Numbers may come down this week as I ensure form is good.

On the weight side- I'm planning to crack 150 this week!  Haven;t seen that in a couple of years, even though in 2010 I decided it was my never again weight.  Seems my body likes to hang at 153 or so.  Well..my brain doesn't like it at all!
