Get faster bike volume

Hello! I just started my first week of the get faster int plan and noticed the Saturday bike is 150 minutes. I am in Ohio and will certainly be relegated to my trainer for the next 8 weeks. My first race (oly) is not until mid May. I read that I should adjust the volume down for trainer rides 12 weeks out from race but wanted to verify. Should I keep it to 90 min or less or try for 2 hrs? Thanks!

  • Susan, hi!!!!! Yes, go with 90' for now....if you "feel" like it and can sneak in an additional 15' once in a weekend, fine. But the final 6 weeks have to be full time whether in or out.

    The GF plan volume is a bit longer than your typical short course WKO.....so cutting it back isn't the end of the world.
