Feedback on QR PRsix

Just did the stack and reach measurements on my current bike, and unfortunately most of the superbikes are too aggressive for my setup.

The QR PRsix is one of the bikes that seems to fit.  (Specialized Shiv is the other).  I"m looking for some feedback on PRsix:

-- How is the ride? (Comfort, turning, etc.)

-- Does it seem heavy / does it climb well?

-- Were there any quality issues?

-- Overall, are you happy with it?

-- Are they any significant changes with the 2016 model?  (I see the Qbox is new)

Thanks!

  • I don't have one, but, I did a TON of homework on it. I was about to buy a new bike and it was my leading candidate.

Opted to wait but that EN discount sure makes it attractive.

Biggest diff in the geometry is that the Stack & Reach vs Sizing migh fool you. I ride a Transition right now. I would've thought that I'd need a M/L type number (56, 58) in the QR but the comparable S&R called for a 52 in the the QR. Check it out.

It's light. That's one of the reasons I was so interested in it. Good carbon and strong/durable despite it being so light, so I was told.
  • I know that this isn't your question, but did you look at a Felt? It's among the tall headtube superbikes that are outside of the 'long and low' paradigm, and might also square up with your numbers.

Can't go wrong with a QR, though. And the ease of maintenance is a huge advantage over others in the class, from what I hear.
  • Thanks Chris and Dave. On my current setup the pad stack is 725 and the pad reach is 475. For the PRsix that would likely be a 56 if I've read their chart correctly.

The IA is a really nice-looking machine. But the only match on their spreadsheet is the "OK" option in size 58. I've toyed with the numbers and a "Best" option requires lowering the pad stack down to 685. Not sure I can get that low without losing power and/or dealing with a recurrence of back issues.
  • Enjoy the QR, then! I've had maybe 4-5 ABG bikes over the years and have loved them all.
  • looks like that EN discount @ TriSports was only good for January.
  • usat has some form of QR bike discount going. We toured the litespeed/qr fabrication shop in Chattanooga last september. Great people. That rig looked mighty fine. But unfortunately my husband heard our tour guide state carbon fiber on a bike should outlast it's owner. So, yeah, my Felt B10 from 2011 is here for a while. image Enjoy!
  • This is the discount Trish mentioned. I just found it in my emails from yesterday. Don't own a QR, but figured I'd pass it on:

  • The QR rebate is good through June 1. Plenty of time. Next step for me is trying to test-ride these machines. I'll include the Felt IA -- looks like a nice machine but it's got to fit properly. As for the Shiv ... there's something about that bike that says "no" ... at least no to buying new.
