Get faster rides in Trainer Road

Patrick just started the Get faster.... my plan had me starting at week 2... but I still did the week one 5k test. I was looking for the Sat bike 120 min ride but could not find the get faster rides loaded in Trainer Road. Did I just miss them or are they not listed.

    Got it... on the topic of biking. I'm unclear about what the recommended cadence for IM. Also during training rides if I have 3 intervals to do, should I be varying the cadence, IE low cadence 70's to build strength or should I train all the intervals at my IM cadence.

  • Jon, there is no really "recommended cadence" for an IM. General cadence guidelines is around 90 rpms; as folks get fitter / stronger, their cadence tends to drop a bit lower closer to the low 80s over time.

    You are welcome to vary cadence as an alternative stressor to the general workload you are doing. IMHO, most of us don't ride enough to need to vary the cadence for that extra edge. But, if it keeps you sane on the bike, then go for it.

    My only warning is don't go below 60 / 65 rpms as you can start to torque your knees, etc.
