The BEST HR strap ?
Yes strap. NOT the new wrist mount MIO or Rythym as I have tried them both, they dont work on me. Since I have been in run jail I started to use my new STRYD running PM as a HRM for biking... It has been very reliable for HR... Today it stopped working but that is another thread.... In the past I have gone thru numerous Garmin Straps and found them unreliable...
Must have ANT+ and Bluetooth ? wahoo line? Suunto looks to be only BT? Any other suggestions?

BTW the STRYD guys answered me right away, we did a face time, they walked me thru the usual battery replacements etc, in the middle of that I had the small side contact fall out of the battery slot right in front of them.... Hardware error and they are sending a new one out tomorrow!

here is an example of the POLAR HR strap wash instructions:
2. Wash the strap regularly. Dirt impairs the elasticity and functioning of the heart rate sensor.
See 2a. or 2b. according to your strap's material.
2a. Textile electrodes (machine wash)
- WearLink® and WearLink®+ straps
Rinse the strap under running water after every use. Wash the strap regularly in a washing machine at 40ºC/104ºF or at lest after every fifth use. Use a washing pouch. Do not soak, spin-dry, iron, dry clean, or bleach the strap. Do not use detergent with bleach or fabric softener.
2b. Plastic electrodes (hand wash)
- Soft strap
Rinse the strap under running water after every use and hang to dry. Clean the strap gently with mild soap and water solution when needed. Do not use moisturizing soaps as they can leave residue on the strap. Do not soak, iron, dry clean or bleach the strap. Do not stretch the strap or sharply bend the electrode areas. Rough handling may damage the electrodes.
Today I used the MIO while I wait.... SSDD.... you can clearly see its erratic right away during warmup, then drops out completely for 30 seconds at the 12 min mark, and Interval 3 shows my real problem with the MIO...

I'll be getting my new STRYD today.... Planning to purchase a 920xt and will probably go with the tri-bundle to get the 2 new garmin straps.
