Todd's Macro Adjustment
Rich, I hope I have an easy question. I have a week of mandatory downtime coming up due to a srping break ski trip. It is three more weeks from this weekend. As far as the three remaining weeks left, which weeks would you have me do prior to leaving. I am in week 4 of the get faster plan. Also, I just finished reviewing the new plans and you are right, there is seemingly a running emphasis. I was also wondering your thoughts on adding back some bike and dropping the run as my bike is weak compared to my run right now (FTP 280 vs vDot 55). Anyway I appreciate yout thoughts. Hey Todd,
Just follow the training plan up until your ski trip, then pick up the plan in the week you're supposed to be in when you get back. Regarding changes to the plan, the "older" GF plan had 2 x bike interval session during the week and the long run (was only about an hour but with Tempo intervals) was on Sunday. So if you have space, you could drop a weekday run, repeat the weekday interval session, then do the weekend of cycling as the plan is written now. Goal would be for 3-4x rides, to include at least 2 days of intervals, and 4-5x runs, with the bike work having the priority. Good luck!
