new racing wheels, what would u get?

hello all

i'm in the market for new racing wheels, i already have a pair of Flo30, a pair of zipp 404, and a rear disc.

I'm wondering what to get next to complete my "arsenal" and I'm torn between a pair of deep rims (like the FLO90) vs a pair of HED3 like wheels...

 What would u go for?

thanx for your input and yes, i do have a powermeter image

  • Deep and fast. I would get the new ENVE SES 7.8 if any of the wheels I have now wore out or were destroyed.
  • my prerequisite is a wide wheel (I like all my wheels the same width so I can change them without adjusting the brakes) with aluminum brake tracks .... I have a set of Hed Jet + wheels and a couple sets of FLO , they both meet my needs... I think the Hed's are a little higher in quality and I like the way the tires hook into the rim , they are lighter and the fairings are a bit flimsier so you can't hang a bike by the rim or use clinching rim holder on a car bike rack... The FLO's are a bit heavier, more durable IMO ....
  • I've had some Hed Jet 6's for five seasons. Bulletproof.

Just this week ordered some Enve 6.7.s with a Powertap laced in the rear.
  • All you really need is a FC808 front or a FLO90 front. You'll be using the FLO30's or the 404's for bike racing and if there's a ton of wind. You'll never "bike race" on anything deeper than that. You already have a disc, so your tri setup would be the disc on the rear and the FC808 or FLO90 on the front. If there's too much wind for the disc, then you'll be running the 404's anyways. I can't imagine when you'd ever run super deep rear wheel over the disc (unless you are doing a race that isn't disc legal like Kona or COZ).
  • I've had good luck with my Flo 60/90 setup. Hard to beat the price as you can have multiple Flo wheels for the price of a set of Zipps. I have a Flo 30 front that I use for windy days or technical course like St George where I want better handling.
