St. George run vs. Wildflower run
I've heard the St. George 70.3 run is fairly tough and will be doing it in May. I've done Wildflower long a few times so to those of you that have done both Wildflower long and St. George 70.3, how do the runs compare in difficulty? Are they pretty similar? Thanks.

I did St. George last year and doing it this year as well. The year I did Wildflower long course was the funky year they had us swim in a different lake and we had T-1-A and T-1-B, so the run was split to balance out having to run a couple miles to get on our bikes. I think
the run portion was 10 1/2 off the bike since we had to run 2 1/2 out of the water. So, I completed a different course in WF.
All this being said, St. George is literally the hardest run I've ever experienced. There is no shade, it's super hot and relentless
hills...nothing flat about St. George. Chat with Gabe Peterson though, he has done well on the course and also doing it this year.
Notice I talk about how hard St. George's run is, but I signed up again. It's an amazing 70.3 and the people in St. George rock!
Looking forward to meeting you!

The IMSG run is harder than the original WF long course run.
For WF you're running lots of hills and some steep stuff (~mile 4) before dropping into the meadow after the steep downhill at mile ~mile 5. It's then a pretty fast course until the u-turn at mile ~10, then 2mi up, 1mi down.
The IMSG gets all of it's gain (about 1300-1400ft) in the first ~9.5mi. In fact, if I were to race it again, I'd put gain on the main screen as it doesn't really matter how much of the run you have left...it's about how much gain you have left. You'll be praying to see the "8% downhill" sign that is your...sign...that the climbing is finally done.
The IMSG course is a blast, faster than you'd think it would be. I had a lot of fun on the bike course.
