  • Dan, that's great progress - 9 pounds in 6 weeks!  Congrats!

I'm down another .4, inching slowly toward my goal of 145 (roughly 12% body fat).

  •  Thanks Kevin.  Staying on a diet and eating well is harder than the workouts.  I love food, but man do I really have to work hard to make the right decisions both food wise and portion wise.  Hard.  Keep it up, we're getting there!

  • Great job Dan.  I hear you on liking food.

Was in a rush today and did you get on the scale.   I will have to report in tomorrow.

  • Dan, I started exactly where you did, 183 lbs (on a 5'9" frame), when I began a fitness lifestyle nearly 2 years ago.  You're right, so much of the solution is in our relationship with food: what we eat, when, why, how much, and how mindfully.  For weight loss, I'm a strong believer in lifestyle over gimmicks - I won't do anything to lose weight that I'm not willing to keep doing for the rest of my life.

    Kevin,  so well said.....

  • X2 on that Kevin!  perfectly stated!  I changed my lifestyle after grad school... and slowly dropped, dropped, dropped without dieting (a word I loathe).  But this past Aug I crashed and in Jan I had surgery -- keeping me out of the action for a looooong time... and some of my good habits turned a bit south.  My goal since starting OS in late Jan has been to get back into my good routine.  I'm a few lbs down, but still have a few to go to be back to my normal weight (and a few more after that til I'm at race weight)... it sure goes on quicker than it comes off... but I'm trying to not sweat it as volume is ramping up and I make a more concerted effort to stick to healthy choices most of the time.  It also helps that fresh fruits and veggies are so plentiful now.

Good work all (even though I haven't added info to the chart, I've been lurking)

  • it sure goes on quicker than it comes off...

@Becky - and sometimes its more fun to put on than to take off. It just seems easier not to put it on. I'm another "struggler", but I'm working HARD at it.
  • 5 weeks on adjusted synthroid and my weight has dropped 5 lbs from my heaviest, most lethargic state (Easter). I am now "normal"! m
  • Great to hear everyone's success!  The hard part for me is the other 200+ days a year!
