IM Week 9 Options
Hey Coach P,
I hope you're staying sane through your stint in exercise jail. No fun, I know. And I hope the MRI shows nothing significant and you're back on the road soon. Relegated to driving the sag vehicle at the BRP Camp would suck.
I'm trying to fill out my schedule and sign up for some cool events before they sell out. For my build to IMNC this fall, I plan to follow schedule, especially the big stuff in Weeks 15-18 (two big run weeks, one big and one monster bike week). But I have some options for Week 9. Setting aside $, fun, etc. and focusing solely on downstream effects, do you see any major advantages or disadvantages of doing the following 12 weeks out:
1) Choo camp (it's a likely '17 race for me);
2) Local HIM; or
3) Grizzly 100+ mi grand fondo on the BRP with a *&#%load of gain.
Or maybe I should just follow the schedule and patiently set myself up for solid Wks 15-18? Or maybe it doesn't matter because . . . it's Week 9.
Thanks.
Mike

I think your top goal this summer (anything more than 10 weeks out) is to ride a ton. So the thing that marries riding with fun sounds the best. I'd put the Choo Camp there as it's bonus thoughts to next year....but that could be not as much fun as so many peeps there could be geeking out and in full TT rah-rah mode. So consider that.
My second choice would be that grizzly ride. Maybe you get a finisher's bear claw or something to mount on your bars?
