I'm still here. Got my Friday work in before traveling to Denver. Did not bring Cordz this time, but got planks and push ups done this AM. Lots of eating and drinking to be had at this conference with lifelong friends and colleagues. Trying to focus on limiting sugar and carbs, eating protein, veg, and some fruit. Continuing runs, but not time to add bike. And it's the gym bike, so I think this plan would be Coach R&P approved.
Sooo... I accidentally lost a pound. For realz! For the first time ever! I was on a trip to Denver- kept up my running, but only once on the gym bike (don't tell RnP!). Out late every night. Drinking beer or wine every night. Eating out every night. But- I was not able to snack at the conference and I had very few carbs with meals (except a piece of awesome bread if it was served at dinner). Kept it to proteins and veggies. And I lost a pound!! Will try to keep the mojo going...
Since I was kind of in the JOS... I followed along the core/comp JOS thread as well... So I guess this is my check in and check out in the same post.....Injury recovery has been the name of the game this winter... Though one of my goals was to get back in the gym... That I have done and used this thread as motivation so I'd like to thank you all... Since January first I have spent 27 hrs strength training... That is probably more than all my time as a triathlete the last 7 years... I can even do pullups again wahoo.... So big success in the strength training... The big fail is weight gain, yeah I mighta gained 1-2 lbs of muscle but the 8-9 total lbs is just fat , its cause I ate too much , I own it .... Its time for discipline to get ready for race season...
I'm still around Ann. Not much going on...my weight fluctuates +/- 2 pounds from week to week. Like the past two years, I expect to see a 5-8 pound drop to my race weight once the longer rides/runs/swims kick in. I've stopped doing the core work because I'm swimming Mondays and Fridays (3-4x a week) and was just too tired to get it in. I attribute my improvement in the pool to the cords and push ups/pull ups I did the first 8 weeks and plan to start doing those again.
